Course Overview
This training will enable candidates to have a clear understanding of the fundamentals of working at height. They will develop knowledge and skills to ensure that they become aware of the risks and dangers associated with working at height and be able to initiate a fall protection plan to protect themselves and others using fall protection/fall arrest equipment. The candidates will gain a basic awareness of how to use full body, fall arrest harnesses. They will develop knowledge and skills to ensure that they become aware of the correct method of donning and adjusting full body harnesses.
This course will give the candidates an understanding of work restraint, work positioning and basic rescue awareness. Section 4 of The Working at Height Regulations specifically mentions planning for emergencies and rescue. Therefore, candidates will develop knowledge and skills to ensure that they become aware of the various safe systems of work, risks and dangers associated with working at height and associated rescue options.

Entry Requirements
The course is suitable for candidates who are new to fall arrest and rescue planning, as well as more experienced people who wish to refresh their basic skills and knowledge. Candidates should hold a certificate for EFS Working at Height Stage 1 or equivalent.
Requalification requirements
It is recommended that training is refreshed every 2 years.
