SENIOR FIRE MARSHAL (Level 3: Fire Safety Co-ordinator) 
 

 
This one day course places a greater emphasis on legal obligations of the responsible person, organise and implement a fire risk assessment programme. The morning session will focus on ‘Responsible Person’ input to give delegates the skills and confidence to manage Fire Safety in their organisation’s premises to meet employer obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The afternoon session will deliver Fire Marshal training giving delegates an increased awareness of the dangers of fire, what to do in case of fire and how to implement fire prevention audit checks.

At the end of this session delegates will have the knowledge, understanding and skills to: 
 
Understand the legal obligations of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 on their organisation 
Be proficient in the theory and practice of Managing Fire Safety and Hazard Spotting 
Enable the candidate to be responsible for supervising fire precautions and fire procedures within your organisation. 
Undertake preventative checks to ensure that your fire risk assessment and policy is both current and being delivered. 
Have an awareness of selection and use of the correct fire extinguishers on controlled fires. 
Adopt effective evacuation procedures.

Designed for: employees who will take a lead role in the coordinating and managing fire safety in order to assist their employer by undertaking a more specific fire safety role in the workplace to manage fire risk.

Pre-requisite: None, although basic fire safety awareness to Level 1 standard is recommended
